It was lovely to welcome the Right Rev Dr Russell Barr Moderator of the General Assembly and Mrs Barr to our church on the 30th March, visiting with the Moderator was the Rev Dr Christine Goldie, Moderator of the Presbytery of Dumbarton.

Clydemuir Primary School Easter Service was being held in the church. The Rev. David Clerk our Locum minister and Presbytery of Dumbarton Clerk welcomed 260 children and their teachers and some parents, grandparents. The children sang Easter songs loudly and listened very quietly when the Rt Rev Dr Russell Barr spoke to the children on the Easter Story, sporting a Mr Moderator tee shirt with a smiley face.

The Moderator and Mrs Barr then had morning coffee with the some of the elders. Our Session Clerk Liz Stewart presented the Moderator with a framed photo of our Church Cross.

The Moderator signed our visitors book and presented us with a Quaich Cup for friendship as a reminder for us of his visit to our church.

Word of Life

WP 20170430 17 47 14 Pro
As the mini youth group children enjoyed their film afternoon watching "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" the previous month, they wanted to re-enact some of the scenes at the local park with bows and arrows in tow!

The group consists of children from various schools in the local area and as they all have an interest in helping in the community, visited the local nursing home after the park to plant bulbs and provide planters for the local residents to show their faith in action. A photograph was intended to be taken at the park, but we all had that much fun that we only remembered to take it on our return to the church!
