Chill, Craft, Create

The active and productive Craft Group in Dalmuir Barclay offers a warm welcome to anyone interested in doing a little crafting, some creating and lots of chilling. Perhaps I could use my story to help inform you about what goes on at the Craft Group.

I joined the Craft Group very much as a novice with limited sewing skills and barely able to read a knitting pattern but really admired the ability of others who effortlessly managed to create. Surely it cannot be that difficult I thought.

So I plucked up courage and decided to go along to the Craft Group and what a welcoming and encouraging set of people were there.

Since my crafting debut I have not looked back. I have now managed to make a few items such as knitted hedgehogs, creating snowmen, making children's bags and even managed to make a cardigan for myself (using thick wool and big pins). I hope this sounds impressive but I have to say without input and encouragement from my crafty colleagues, I would have given up.

I would add that an essential ingredient of our craft evenings is the banter, laughs and refreshments which often includes home baking. I have included a few pictures of our creations and whether you are novice or expert at crafting you might consider giving our group a try, we are currently busy making various gifts and crafts for our Christmas fayre on Saturday 18th November
